2019

Wow.  It’s New Year’s Eve, and another year is behind us!  This is a perfect time to look at our life’s goals and get started on, or recommitted to, those goals!

If you need help deciding what your goals should be, below are some goals that you may want to put at the top of your list:

1.  Pray daily.  Begin a morning devotion time.  This is a habit that will change your life!  God has revealed himself to us through his Word.  Don't let 2019 go by without reading his Word and praying daily.  Get to know your Creator and his plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.

2.  Improve your health.  Your health should always be a priority, but why not make one or two small changes in 2019 to make your health better?  Choose something that is realistic (e.g., increased exercise, reduced carb intake) and watch how small changes make a difference.  Be specific about the changes and implement a plan of action.

3.  De-clutter.  Let 2019 be the year that the de-cluttering begins!  Start with a small project, and then move to the next project.  Don't try to tackle everything all at once.  Small steps in the right direction will make a difference.

4.  Let go of regrets.  Write down your regrets of the past year.  Identify your disappointments in life.  Guess what?  You can intentionally turn the regrets and disappointments into goals!  The decision to turn them into goals reflects a growth mindset.  Make a plan for 2019 that includes small steps that you can begin right away.  Keep a positive attitude (it's a choice)!

Be intentional!  The best way to exercise intentionality is to write down your goals and make a plan.  2019 is going to come and go, and it’s your choice to fill it with something or wait until the next year, or the next year….

Let’s get ready for 2019.  Happy New Year!!

Devotion

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.  Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that you will help us in 2019 to focus on the goals that will lead us to accomplish your will for our lives.  Help us with our personal goals, especially to begin each day with prayer and devotion, improve our health, de-clutter where necessary, and let go of regrets.  Thank you for giving us the gift of salvation in your Son, and the reconciliation that allows us to have a personal relationship with you.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
